Welcome Walk 5

July 21st Silsden Circular via the Canal, Silsden golf course and Swartha Woods. Approx. 4 ¼ miles. 

Meet at Keighley Bus Station and catch the 5.30pm No. 62 Ilkley Bus and get off at the Canal bridge in Silsden or meet at the canal bridge in Silsden at 5.45pm 

The route follows the Canal Tow path for the first mile, then after following a farm track and walking along a country lane for a few yards, the route goes uphill for a short while crossing a couple of meadows, then after following a quite country lane it crosses the now abandoned Silsden golf course (Look out for deer here), then after going through a farm yard the path goes through a meadow and into Swartha Woods and into the Picturesque hamlet of Swartha, being then going through a series of meadows until the path finally comes out onto Ilkley Rd at the Top end of Silsden. It’s then a short walk downhill into the centre of Silsden and to the end of the walk.
